1–2 minutes By Molaole Montsho The perception that the African National Congress (ANC) did not improve the lives of the people is incorrect, National Executive Committee member Njabulo Nzuza said “It is not correct that the ANC government did not deliver. We have improved the lives of the people. It is just we have not arrived where we wanted it to be, but ultimately we will arrive there,” he said. He said it was only the ANC that engaged with communities to hear their concerns and intervened to resolve them. Nzuza, who is also the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, addressed residents of Lethabong outside Rustenburg, encouraging them to attend the ANC’s January 8 Statement and 114th anniversary celebration in Moruleng on Saturday. “We want you to come to Moruleng. We are not going to have a big party. The January 8 Statement is about the marching orders. Come to hear the marching orders.” He said this year’s focus would be on the coming municipal elections. “Councillors who are not serving the people are not coming back. I am telling you,” he said to the applause of the crowd, mostly clad in ANC yellow T-shirts. Residents complained about the provision of water and the potholes on the roads. “We heard water is a pressing issue; we will engage the mayor ( of Rustenburg) about this concern. “The roads are also bad. This road just here is bad, there are potholes,” he said, pointing to Thabo Mokhaba Drive passing near the Benjamin Tause Community Hall.
