The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) Bojanala Regional Task Team (RTT) has added its support to a proposal by the ANC Special Regional General Council to convene a constitutional Regional General Council amid concerns over the operation of the ANC Bojanala Regional Secretariat Office (RSO).The idea includes convening a constitutional RGC made up of branches in good standing ahead of an early regional conference. According to the youth league, the move follows concerns about the current state of the ANC Bojanala Regional Executive Committee (REC), particularly within the Regional Secretariat Office. “We want to reflect on the state of the organisation through the assessment of the REC. We acknowledge that the ANC Bojanala REC has weaknesses, particularly in the RSO, where the Regional Secretary is on step aside and the Deputy Secretary is not fully fit for office,” said ANCYL Bojanala RTT spokesperson Pako Mokoua. Mokoua said the Special RGC reflected dissatisfaction with the current functioning of the Regional Secretariat Office. “The RGC was a true reflection of motion of no confidence on the RSO and this reflection poses a threat to the organisation,” she said. He said the youth league supported calls for an early regional conference and a constitutional RGC, moves that would allow the Regional Secretariat Office to be reconfigured and an acting regional secretary appointed. “The ANCYL Bojanala RTT fully supports the Special RGC call that the ANC in Bojanala must go for an early conference and also go for a constitutional RGC to reconfigure the RSO and appoint an Acting Secretary as proposed by the Special RGC,” Mokoua said. The organisation said the proposed interventions were necessary in light of the upcoming Local Government Elections and broader political challenges in the region. “In light of the upcoming Local Government Elections (LGE) and the prevailing political challenges in the region, the ANCYL Bojanala RTT echoes the Special RGC’s call for an early conference,” Mokoua said, adding that stabilising the organisation is essential to avoid political regression. It has questioned the effectiveness of the ANC’s regional election machinery, calling for leadership changes to avert the risk of losing an outright majority in Bojanala. “As we move forward, the ANCYL Bojanala RTT stands committed to ensuring that the ANC remains a formidable force in the political landscape of Bojanala,” Mokoua said. The RGC is the highest decision-making structure in the region between conferences. Post navigation Mantashe under fire over remarks on unemployment DA Targets ANC majority in North West
